About Me

I was born in 1963 in a place that is now known as Sleepy Hollow, NY which is about 20 miles or so north of New York City.  I spent my childhood in that area and attended Catholic elementary and high schools.

After graduating high school, I attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Minor in Economics.

After college, I began my nearly 40-year career in the Intelligence Community as both a civilian and contractor employee in various capacities including a year on Capitol Hill in 2002 as a professional staff member of the Joint 9/11 Congressional Inquiry (this Inquiry preceded the 9/11 Commission).  I spent that year investigating technical capability shortfalls at the NSA, CIA, and FBI which may have contributed to the lack of timely discovery of the 9/11 plot.  I authored the (mostly redacted) technical section of the Inquiry's final report.  (https://irp.fas.org/congress/2002_rpt/911rept.pdf)

I have since spent almost the last 20 years at the Pentagon supporting the oversight of military intelligence programs.

I also have a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University as well as a Master of Science degree in Strategic Intelligence from what was then known as the Defense Intelligence College.

I enjoy learning firsthand about foreign cultures and have traveled extensively internationally having visited all seven continents and over 50 countries.

I currently reside in Arlington, Virginia.
